O come, o come Emmanuel and ransom captive Israel That mourns in lonely exile here, until the Son of God appears Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel shall come to Thee, O Israel O come, thou Dayspring, come and cheer our spirits by Thine advent here Disperse the gloomy clouds of night and death’s dark shadows put to flight Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel shall come to Thee, O Israel O come, Thou Rod of Jesse, free Thine own from Satan’s tyranny From depths of hell Thy people save, and give them vict’ry over the grave Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel shall come to Thee, O Israel O come, Desire of nations bind in one the hearts of all mankind Bid envy strife and sorrows cease, and be Thyself, our Prince of peace Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel shall come to Thee, O Israel

Joy 04:52
There’s a joy that’s come into the world For the Lord, our Savior has come Let all the earth come and welcome Him And every heart prepare Him room! And now heaven and earth declare Now heaven and earth declare that there is Joy unspeakable! It’s unimaginable! So freely given There is joy here for everyone, now His song has begun And we will dance for joy! And there is joy that’s spreading over the earth As the Lord, our Savior, He reigns Let all peoples break forth in song! And the hills, the plains, the trees of the field Reverberate and resound Reverberate and resound the sounding Joy unspeakable! It’s unimaginable! So freely given There is joy here for everyone, now His song has begun And we will dance for joy! There is joy for the souls of the world There is freedom that’s found in His grace Now that the scarlet of my sin has been cleansed And my shame is covered as with snow And I bear it’s guilt no more And I bear it’s guilt no more and there is Joy unspeakable! It’s unimaginable! So freely given There is joy here for everyone, Yes our Lord has come And we will dance for joy!

To lay before the King, pa rum pum pum pum,

So to honor Him, pa rum pum pum pum,
 When we come.

Little Baby, pa rum pum pum pum

Shall I play for you, pa rum pum pum pum,
 On my drum?

Mary nodded, pa rum pum pum pum
The ox and lamb kept time, pa rum pum pum pum
I played my drum for Him, pa rum pum pum pum
I played my best for Him, pa rum pum pum pum,
rum pum pum pum, rum pum pum pum,

Then He smiled at me, pa rum pum pum pum

What Child is this who, laid to rest, on Mary’s lap is sleeping? Whom angels greet with anthems sweet, while shepherds watch are keeping? This, this is Christ the King, Whom shepherds guard and angels sing; Haste! Haste, to bring Him laud, the Babe, the Son of Mary. Why lies He in such mean estate, where ox and ass are feeding? Good Christians, fear, for sinners here the silent Word is pleading. Nails, spear shall pierce Him through, the cross be borne for me, for you. Hail! Hail the Word made flesh, the Babe, the Son of Mary. What Child is this, Who is so blessed, He changes all tomorrows? Replacing fears with reborn years in hearts once dark and hollow “This is Christ,” the angels sing, the Prince of Peace, the King of kings! Sing! Sing; declare His praise, the Babe, the Son of Mary So bring Him incense, gold and myrrh, come peasant, king to own Him; The King of kings salvation brings, let loving hearts enthrone Him. Raise, raise a song on high, the virgin sings her lullaby. Joy! Joy for Christ is born, the Babe, the Son of Mary.

Upon this holy night, when God's star appears, And floods the earth with brightness, Birds' voices rise in song, and, warbling all night long, Express their glad hearts' lightness. Birds' voices rise in song, and, warbling all night long, Express their glad hearts' lightness. The Nightingale is first to bring his song of cheer, And tell us of his gladness: "Jesus, our Lord, is born to free us from all sin, and banish ev'ry sadness! "Jesus, our Lord, is born to free us from all sin, and banish ev'ry sadness! The answ'ring Sparrow cries: "God comes to earth this day Amid the angels flying." Trilling in sweetest tones, the Finch his Lord now owns: "To Him be all thanksgiving." Trilling in sweetest tones, the Finch his Lord now owns: "To Him be all thanksgiving." The Partridge adds his note: "To Bethlehem I'll fly, Where in the stall He’s lying. There, near the manger blest, I'll build myself a nest, And sing my love undying. There, near the manger blest, I'll build myself a nest, And sing my love undying. Jesus, our Lord, is born to free us from all sin, and banish ev'ry sadness!

Little Town 03:26
O little town of Bethlehem how still we see thee lie
Above thy dark and dreamless sleep
The silent stars go by Yet in thy dark streets shineth
the everlasting Light The hopes and fears of all the years
Are met in thee tonight Fa la la la…. The lamp lit streets of Bethlehem
we walk now through the night
There is no peace in Bethlehem; there is no peace in sight The wounds of generations almost too deep to heal
Scar the timeworn miracle and make it seem surreal Fa la la la…. The baby in the manger grew to a man one day
And still we try to listen now
to what he had to say “Put up your swords forever”,
”Forgive your enemies” “Love your neighbor as yourself” “Let your little children come to me” Fa la la la …. O little town of Bethlehem how still we see thee lie
Above thy dark and dreamless sleep
 The silent stars go by

Sweet little Jesus child Born in the hay our savior today What can I give to you But my ruined life, my ten thousand stripes. How many times have You met me here? In the December cold regretting one more year I know you’ve always been there since the Christmas You came down But I suppose I think of that when January rolls around… O gentle holy baby The world turns it’s back on You sleeping peacefully in the straw While the sins of our lives destroy and infect us all But there is answer, there is a peace There is a bright star shining in the East But we’ve got shopping malls and colored Christmas tree lights We’ve got our own ways and our sins to light this winter’s night Silent Night, O Holy Night Won’t you come down this winter’s night? Sweet little Jesus child Lord help me see You don’t care ‘bout these lights, this tree All you really care about is me Silent Night, O Holy Night Won’t you come down?

All the streets are filled with laughter and light
And the music of the season
And the merchants' windows are all bright
With the faces of the children
And the families hurrying to their homes
As the sky darkens and freezes
Will be gathering around the hearths and tables
Giving thanks for all God's graces
And the birth of the rebel Jesus

Well, they call him by the "Prince of Peace"
And they call him by "The Saviour"
And they pray to him upon the sea
 And in every bold endeavor
As they fill his churches with their pride and gold
And their faith in them increases
But they've turned the nature that I worship in
 From a temple to a robber's den
In the words of the rebel Jesus

We guard our world with locks and guns
And we guard our fine possessions
And then once a year when Christmas comes
 We give to our relations
And perhaps we give a little to the poor
If the generosity should seize us
But if any one of us should interfere
In the business of why there are poor
They get the same as the rebel Jesus

But pardon me if I have seemed
To take the tone of judgment
For I've no wish to come between
 This day and your enjoyment
In this life of hardship and of earthly toil
We have need for anything that frees us
So I bid you pleasure and I bid you cheer
From a heathen and a pagan
On the side of the rebel Jesus.

O Holy Night 07:06
O holy night! The stars are brightly shining, It is the night of our dear Savior’s birth. Long lay the world in sin and error pining, 'Til He appear'd and the soul felt its worth. A thrill of hope the weary world rejoices, For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn. Fall on your knees! O hear the angels' voices! O night divine, O night when Christ was born; O night O holy night, O night Divine. Led by the light of faith serenely beaming, With glowing hearts by His cradle we stand. So led by light of a star sweetly gleaming, Here came the wise men from Orient land. The King of kings lay thus in lowly manger; In all our trials born to be our friend. He knows our need, to our weakness is no stranger, Behold your King! Before Him lowly bend! Behold your King, Your King, before Him bend! Truly He taught us to love one another; His law is love and His gospel is peace. Chains shall He break for the slave is our brother; And in His Name all oppression shall cease. Sweet hymns of joy in grateful chorus raise we, Let all within us praise His holy name. Christ is the Lord! O praise His Name forever, His power and glory evermore proclaim! His power and glory evermore proclaim! Fall on your knees! O hear the angels' voices! O night divine, O night when Christ was born; O night O holy night, O night Divine.

Still the night, holy the night, Sleeps the world hid from sight Mary and Joseph in stable bare, watch the Child with wonder and care Sleep in heavenly peace, Sleep in heavenly peace. Still the night, holy the night, God’s Son laughs! Oh how bright Love is smiling from Thy face, Strikes for us now the hour of grace Jesus, Lord at Your birth, Jesus, Lord at Your birth Still the night, holy the night, brings the world salvation’s Light Coming down from Heaven above, mercy abundant displayed to us Jesus in human form, Jesus in human form Still the night, holy the night, Where today all the might Of His fatherly love us hath graced and then Jesus as brother embraced All the peoples on earth, all the peoples on earth Still the night, Holy the night,
The ancient vow to cleanse sin’s plight Fulfilled to free us from wrath and hell Through Jesus Christ – Emmanuel Salvation offered to all Salvation offered to all Still the night, Holy the night,
 Shepherds first beheld the sight,
 “Hallelujah” the angels sang,
 Near and far so loudly rang;
 Jesus, the Savior, is here!
 Jesus, the Savior, is here!

about

A Christmas album with a purpose.

Christmas is often the time of year that we gather with friends and family in our cozy homes with sumptuous foods and traditions, warmth and merriment.

But is that what the incarnation of the Christ was meant to bring about?

Ironically, Christmas can become the time of year when we lavish ourselves and our loved ones with love and gifts, when the One we celebrate came to give Himself away.

The “Hope Has Come” album is meant to be about three things:
* celebrating the astounding reality of the Incarnation
* challenging our quaint and often self-indulgent ideas of Christmas
* helping others in a very practical way.
